Puerto Plata: 27 Waterfalls Epic Taino Bay Excursion

If I could give 10 stars I would - this was the best excursion!!!! Right off the ship - easy walk and found our guide. We were off about a 15 min drive! They offered us a 3rd option before we arrived and it was amazing! We used the entire day to zip line, waterfall, and dune buggy!!! Best day of our cruise! First arrive and getting fitted up - hike up for 45 min (5 min DR time) with breaks. We ziplined 7x it was great and we went fast down the lines! Always felt safe. Then we got to the waterfalls/slides…water is deep and chilly but wonderful!!! We walked through caves and went down multiple slides, last we jumped 20 feet! It was scary to me but jumped eventually. My family LOVED IT! The entire time we had our own personal paparazzi! Photos and videos of everything was very reasonable. They really took every opportunity to get the perfect picture through the entire excursion. Last we ate a chicken, rice, and veggie lunch. Our added dune buggy fun was at a different location and close to the ship. It was more than I expected - the mud was wet and warm and was hilarious! We had 2 buggies - (2pp and 3pp). We all got real dirty and had a blast. We saw horses, chickens, cows, and stopped at a little shop to try mommajuana and yummy chocolate and coffee. We cleaned off at the shop and then again on a secluded beach where you can see the ship. It was very cool! We were back and bought our pics and videos again from “paparazzi” it was great. Don’t bring your phones! You don’t need them. Loved it and made it to the ship in plenty of time!!! What a blast for the 5 of us….48/47/25/22/19 years young.

My last tour with Pop Dominican Travel was February 2025. I have taken tours with Rigo several times and sent many of my friends and family to tour with him as well... Rigo offers top notch service and you will do just as I do, book him time and time again... If you need a great travel experience, I highly recommend this service...

Rico and his team are top-notch! We had an amazing experience and you always feel like VIP when you are on one of their tours. Their price cannot be beat and their service is impeccable. They make everything so easy from the minute. You walk off the ship to the time they drop you back off at Port. We did the zip lining which was absolutely amazing, the waterfalls, which was incredible and the monkeys, which was so much fun. I have used this Tour company in the past and honestly, I would always recommend them. We have used them for city tours in the past beach tours in the past, and I’ve never been disappointed..

Everything about our day was perfect and even better than we expected. Prior to our trip, Rigo was an excellent communicator and was always quick to reply to my inquiries. The morning of our excursion, Rigo was waiting for us outside of the port in a clean, new van with air conditioner. He greeted us and off we went! Our first stop was the Damajagua waterfalls. Here, Rigo waited patiently as we prepared for our adventure, helped translate as needed, ensured we had shoes, helmets, and life jackets. The waterfalls were gorgeous! After this amazing experience, Rigo was right there to help us get ready for the rest of our day. We drove to the beach, where we had a private, beachfront meal for lunch. Fish, chicken, fresh avocados, fried plantains, rice, beans, and drinks— every bit of it was delicious! From here, Rigo took us to the city where we were able to visit many interesting places. From the chocolate factory, cigar factory, and shopping spots to pink street, umbrella street and the square with pigeons & parliament, there was so much to see and take in! Not only did Rigo ensure that we had a wonderful experience in the Dominican Republic, he also shared so much about his country and the culture. He also took every opportunity to make sure that our memories were captured on camera. We never had to ask him for a picture, as he was always anticipating what we might want to capture. We cannot wait to go back and would book with Rigo in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed if you book your day with him. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

Our taxi driver to waterfall name was Augusta and he was very nice he helped us out once we got there. The zip line was fun and waterfall was refreshing and great my family loved it. The hike up the mountain is moderate activity you do stop frequently just need to take your time. Recommend for photos to have a water proof case but beware you could loose it during activity. Also water shoes are a must if you don’t have appropriate shoes you will need to rent them.

Cannot say enough great things about this excursion! Cloudio was our guide and paparazzi and he was AMAZING. Andriw was our waterfall/zipline guide and he was also AMAZING! This was the highlight of our trip. 🤩 🤩🤩🤩🤩 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

The Waterfalls and the staff that worked as tour guides were fantastic. We didn’t have such a great experience with our taxi driver, however. Initially told us that he would charge us $20 per person for a ride and when we got to our destination he insisted that we had agreed to $30 per person. All of us were in his van heard him say $20 per person. He blatantly lied his name was Rigo. If you get him make him write down the fare amount prior to using the services..
